Whrrl Alpha Tests Blackberry App
Seattle-based Pelago, the maker of the Whrrl mobile social networking service, said last night that it has cooked up a new, Blackberry version of its software. The firm--which currently only runs on iPhone and Android--said the new app was developed by Hallgren Networks. The firm said it is looking for alpha testing users for the new software, who are willing to send feedback, errors, and bugs to the user before a wider release. Pelago did not say when it expects to release a commercial version of the software. Whrrl is a mobile social networking service which allows users to check into locations, and share pictures and comments with other users. The firm's service competes with similar services from Foursquare and Gowalla, among others.
