Expedia Buys Mobiata
Bellevue-based Expedia, the online travel site, said today that it is in a deal to acquire Mobiata, a developer of travel applications. Financial terms of the deal were not announced. Mobiata's software applications include FlightTrack, TripDeck, and HotelPal. Expedia said Mobiata will remain in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where it was founded in 2008. The company said the buy will help it accelerate its efforts in the mobile application space, and is its "most significant investment to date" in addressing the mobile travel market.
