Widevine Selected By Panasonic
Seattle-based Widevine, the provider of digital rights management (DRM) software, reported Wednesday afternoon that it has been selected by Panasonic, as part of Panasonic's range of consumer electronics products. Widevine said Panasonic is using its products on Viera connected TVs, Blu-ray disc players, and other products from Panasonic. Financial impact of the win was not announced. Widevine is venture backed by Cisco, Charter Ventures, Constellation Ventures, Dai Nippon Printing Co. Ltd, Liberty Global, PaceSetter Capital Group, Phoenix Partners, Samsung Ventures America, TELUS, and VantagePoint Venture Partners.
