Wetpaint Launches Dedicated Show Channels
Seattle-based Wetpaint, the online wiki firm started by Ben Elowitz, is going full out on its focus on entertainment content, saying today that it has launched a new set of fifteen channels, dedicated to such shows as Glee, The Vampire Diaries, and Dancing With the Stars. The firm said the new channels provide photos, videos, gossip, and headlines around those different shows. Wetpaint said the channels will allow fans to keep up with their favorite TV series, interact with Wetpaint's editors, and talk with each other about those shows. The company now says it is focused on young women who love TV and fashion. The firm's web site also reflects that focus, with a highly graphical homepage that links to popular TV shows, gossip, videos, photos and more. Wetpaint had previously been focused on creating wiki software, which allowed users to create their own, personal wiki-style web sites. The firm is backed by Trinity Ventures, Frazier Technology Ventures, Accel Partners, and DAG Ventures.
