Bookbyte Launches iPad Textbook Project
Salem, Oregon-based Bookbyte, an online retailer of college textbooks, said today that it is launching a new digital learning project in its hometown. According to the firm, it is launching a project with the Salem-Keizer Public Schools in Oregon, which will provide Apple iPads and digital textbooks to the schools. The firm said the pilot program, initially rolled out to teachers and students in Hammond Elementary School, McNary High School and South Salem High School, will include Apple iPads for classroom use. The iPads will be used in a ninth grade algebra class for students learning English as a second language, a ninth grade literature class, and other efforts.
