Isilon Wins UCLA Lab
Seattle-based Isilon, which develops data storage systems, reports today that the firm has been selected by the University of California, Los Angeles. According to Isilon, the UCLA Laboratory of Neuro Imaging (LONI), a lab which focuses on research into Alzheimer's disease, schizophrenia and other brain disorders, is using its products. Financial impact of the win was not disclosed. Isilon said the UCLA lab is using the storage alongside a 5,000-plus compute-core Linux cluster and repository of 2D and 3D neuroimages.
