Clearwire Adds New Wi-Fi Hotspot, Modem Options

Kirkland-based wireless broadband provider Clearwire announced late Wednesday that it has launched a new set of devices to access its network. The firm said it has rolled out two new, personal Wi-Fi hotspots called the CLEAR Spot and CLEAR Spot 4G+, and a new USB model, the CLEAR 4G+ Mobile USB. The new personal Wi-Fi devices allow laptops, netbooks, smartphones, and other Wi-Fi enabled products to access CLEAR's WiMax network. The new USB modem supports both Macs and PCs. CLEAR is tapping InfoMark for its CLEAR Spot 4G product, and Sierra Wireless for its CLEAR Spot 4G+. The new USB model also comes from Sierra Wireless.
