Avalara Raises $4.9M

Bainbridge Island-based Avalara, a developer of software for managing the collection of sales taxes, has raised $4.9M as part of an ongoing, $9.4M funding round. Source and details of the funding have yet to be announced by the company. According to the filing, the equity round came from 36 separate investors. Avalara develops software which automates the calculation and reporting of sales taxes across different states and locales. The firm is headed by Scott McFarlane. More information »
