Microsoft Pays $200M To VirnetX In Patent Case
Redmond-based Microsoft has agreed to settle a patent infringement case with Silicon Valley-based VirnetX, by paying $200M to that firm. According to VirnetX and Microsoft, the settlement will result in the dismissal of two lawsuits in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. VirnetX is the holder of a number of patents in the Internet security area. VirnetX had originally sued Microsoft in February of 2007.
