Amazon RDS Launches In Europe

Seattle-based Amazon Web Services, the web services arm of Amazon.com, said today that it has launched its Amazon Relational Database Service (Amazon RDS) in Europe. The firm had previously been offering its relational database service in the U.S. and Asia. The firm said the EU launch gives customers servers located in the EU, providing lower latency and higher performance, as well as the ability to meet EU requirements on where data is stored.
