Microsoft, Samsung Link On PlayReady
Microsoft and Samsung Electronics said today that Samsung will adopt Microsoft's PlayReady technology in a wide range of its consumer products. PlayReady is a digital rights management technology developed by Microsoft. According to the two firms, Samsung will support PlayReady technology in mobile phones, digita video players, televisions, and other devices. The firms said that Samsung's first devices to support PlayReady will be available sometime this year, with PlayReady support rolled out across Samsung's products by 2012. Samsung is currently using Windows Media Digital Rights Management in its products.
