PopCap To Pay $4.6M In Lawsuit
Seattle-based PopCap Games has been ordered to pay $4.6M in a legal loss to former partner MumboJumbo, a developer of video games, according to MumboJumbo's legal counsel. According to civil litigation firm Rose Walker, MumboJumbo has won a legal battle against PopCap Games over breach of a 2006 contract, where MumboJumbo would produce, distribute, and sell certain PopCap games in North America. The legal firm said that a jury in the 193rd Civil District Court in Dallas County, Texas awarded $4.6M, after finding that PopCap breached its contract with MumboJumbo when it decided to market and sell its games on its own. PopCap did not issue any response to the announcement.
