Spoken Buys Most Of GotVoice

Seattle-based Spoken Communications said late Friday that it has acquired the voicemail transcription service from GotVoice. According to a spokesperson for the firm, Spoken has acquired most of GotVoice's significant assets, including the patents behind GotVoice's transcription service, as well as hired staff from GotVoice. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. Kirkland-based GotVoice was venture backed by Ignition Partners and Second Avenue Partners.
