Calypso Medical Raises $50M
Seattle-based Calypso Medical Technologies said Thursday that it has raised $50M in a venture funding round. The firm, which develops medical technology for tracking tumors, said that the round was led by Skyline Ventures and Frazier Healthcare Ventures. Bay City Capital and InterWest Partners also participated. According to Calypso, it will use the funding for commercial expansion and development of new products. Calpyso develops medical devices which are implanted in tumors, and used for tracking them during external beam radiation therapy, which allows for more accurate treatment of those tumors without hitting healthy tissue.
