Gist Opens Beta

Seattle-based Gist, a startup backed by Vulcan Capital and Foundry Group, said today that it has opened a public beta of the firm's information software. Gist, which develops a software tool to pulls up relevant Internet data about email contacts, said that the beta release supports Microsoft Outlook, Gmail, and Salesforce.com. The tool pulls up individual and company profiles drawn from Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and news sources, to help business users responding to emails.
