Mentor Graphics Furthers EDA Efforts In Saudi Arabia
Wilsonville, Oregon-based Mentor Graphics is helping an effort in Saudi Arabia to help the country's research into microelectronics, the company said Wednesday. According to Mentor Graphics and the King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) in Saudi Arabia, the company is helping to establish the Advanced Microelectronics Technology Center (AMTC) at KACST, focused on promoting and encouraging electronics design in Saudi Arabia. The firm will provide its EDA software, consulting, and training services to the government, as well as work with university outreach programs in the country. Financial details of the collaboration were not disclosed. Mentor also said that KACST will have access to expertise from the firm's current design center, located in Egypt. Mentor has had a branch in Egypt since 1995.
