Area Tech Firms Rank On Inc. 500

Inc. Magazine released their annual, Inc. 500 list of fastest growing private companies in the U.S. this week, with a smattering of area firms listed in the rankings. Among the strongest showings was by local companies involved in some aspects of consulting, services, or outsourcing, far outpacing better known technology startups. Consulting firm ProKarma, based in Beaverton, Oregon, was at number 11; Kirkland, Wash.-based Revel Consulting at 34; Redmond's Xtreme Consulting Group at 41; and Redmond-based Sirsai ranked at 63, C&I Engineering in Oregon was 102, and Remote Medical International at 147. Outside of consulting and outsourcing, Beaverton identity theft and security firm ID Experts was at 32, Bellevue's Clarisonic was at number 60. Where were the technology firms? Seattle's Big Fish Games showed up at 252, Portland's Smarsh at 275, Bothell's Winshuttle was at 290, and--the last technology firm among the top 500 from the area--Seattle's Tableau Software was 400.
