Seattle Rises In Tech Rankings
The Seattle-Bellevue-Everett metro area is second only to Silicon Valley in a report released yesterday ranking the "top high-tech centers" in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. According to the Milken Institute report, "North America's High-Tech Economy: The Geography of Knowledge-Based Industries," the Seattle area tops every metro area except the San Jose-Sunnyvale metro, based on high tech employment and wages. Seattle also rose from the last report issued by the group in 2003, going from number three to number two in rankings, edging out the Cambridge-Newton-Framingham, Mass. metro for the spot.
