Amazon.com Sues Discovery Communications
Seattle-based Amazon.com appears to have counter-sued Discovery Communications, according to the docket of the Washington Western District Court. The case--Amazon.com Inc. v. Discovery Communications, Case 2:2009cv00681--was filed on Friday, May 15th. The countersuit comes two months after Discovery Communications sued Amazon over what it was was patent infringement of a U.S. patent covering electronic book security. In that case, Discovery--the parent firm of the Discovery Channel, TLC, and Animal Planet--claimed that Amazon has infringed on a patent through its sale of its Kindle and Kindle 2 products. Neither firm has yet released any details on the new lawsuit.
