Redfin: Agent Program Ramps, But Sees Recruiting Difficulty
Seattle-based Redfin reported today that the firm's partner agent program, which allows buyers and sellers of homes in areas the firm does not serve to connect, is off to a "roaring start," saying that it now has 60 agents in the program. The firm also said that recruiting agents for the program has been "tougher" than the firm though, in part because its advertisements on Craiglist has been blocked in some markets, plus the firm's requirements that it interview agents in person. The firm launched the effort in February, in an attempt to reach markets where the firm has not established operations yet. The company reports that California's Inland Empire is the firm's most active.
