Amazon Launches New, Larger Kindle

Seattle-based Amazon.com has officially launched a new, larger version of the firm's Kindle e-book reader, the Kindle DX, saying that it has also partnered with the New York Times,The Boston Globe, and The Washington Post to offer those papers' subscribers reduced cost on hardware when they sign up for subscriptions to those publications. The new device boasts a 9.7-inch display, and will retail for $489. Amazon said it would take pre-orders for the devices today, and ship sometime this summer.
