Isilon Gets Win With DNA Project
Seattle-based data storage specialist Isilon Systems revealed this morning that the Personal Genome Project has installed a network-attached storage solution that will serve as the central repository for the project's research. The financial impact of the customer win was not disclosed. Isilon explained that the Personal Genome Project is using Isilon's IQ product to store genetic and trait data for as many as 100,000 volunteers who have agreed to share their genetic profiles in hopes of advancing the use of genomics to combat disease and better understand human health.
