F5 Gets Win At Hitachi

Seattle-based F5 Networks, announced this morning that the firm's products have been selected by Hitachi Information Systems. According to F5, Hitachi is using the firm's ARX file virtualization solutions to reduce overall storage costs. Financial impact of the deal was not disclosed. F5 said the use of its product by Hitachi will save Hitachi 70 percent in lowered capital expenses. F5's ARX product is used for automated storage tiering and moving of data to less expensive storage.
