BuddyTV Launches Fantasy TV Leagues
Seattle-based media and pop culture community Web site BuddyTV.com reported Friday that it has launched an online fantasy television league that will allow fans and viewers to compete against one another. BuddyTV explained that its fantasy TV league will operate much like fantasy sports leagues—participants watch the shows, research their picks and make their selections before the shows air. The online league system, BuddyTV said, will handle the rest of the duties. BuddyTV added that, effective immediately, fantasy leagues are available for several reality shows, including American Idol, Survivor, The Amazing Race and Dancing with the Stars. BuddyTV is a privately held company based in Seattle. Its backers include the Madrona Venture Group, Charles River Ventures, and others.
