Microsoft: Xbox 360's Biggest Year Ever

Microsoft said late Tuesday night that 2008 was the firm's "biggest year in Xbox history"--saying that the company has sold more consoles, games, and associated products than any previous year. Microsoft said that it has now sold more than 28 million consoles worldwide, and that it saw a increase of 84 percent in online consumer spending on Xbox LIVE. Microsoft attributed the growth to sales globally, and particularly in Japan and Europe. The firm is attempting to broaden its lead over Sony's Playstation 3. The firm said it now has over 17 million members of its Xbox LIVE service.
