Lumera/GigOptix Merger Finally Complete
GigOptix LLC announced Tuesday that its merger with Bothell, Wash.-based Lumera Corp. is finally official. The combined company, GigOptix Inc., will be headquartered in Palo Alto, Calif., but will maintain satellite offices in Bothell and Zurich, Switzerland. The merger was originally announced on March 27. GigOptix's principals approved the transaction more than eight months ago, but Lumera's stockholders did not OK the deal until last Thursday. A manufacturer of electro-optical components for the communications industry, Lumera faced the possibility of its stock being de-listed; the firm had received two NASDAQ de-listing notices, the most recent of which coming in late November. GigOptix said the new company's stock will be traded on the OTC Bulletin Board under the GGOX symbol.
