RentSelect.com Launches Beta Site

A new Web site focused on helping people locate roommates and rental properties is offering its services for free in a bid to gain traction, that company reported Thursday. Seattle-based RentSelect.com allows its users to browse profiles of potential roommates and communicate with them securely and at no cost. Similar sites, RentSelect.com said, often charge users up to $30 a month to interact with others. RentSelect.com said the site is currently in beta and has been in development for several months. During the beta period, RentSelect.com added, property owners and management companies will also be able to use the site for free.
