Ontela Adds Photo Site Support, Carrier Win

Seattle-based Ontela, a provider of mobile applications for sharing camera phone pictures, said Tuesday that the firm has added eight new online photo sites to its support list, and also signed a carrier group. According to Ontela, it has added support for Dot Photo, Facebook, Friendster, Kodak Gallery, Personal Grid, Picasa, SmugMug and TinyPic to its software, on top of existing Blogger, Flickr, Photobucket, and Snapfish support. Separately, the firm said that its PhotoCopter photo-saving service is now available on the Associated Carrier Group's 14 Networks, which include Alaska DigiTel, Appalachian Wireless, Bluegrass Cellular, Carolina West Wireless, Cellcom, Cellular 29Plus/Lyrix Wireless, Golden State Cellular, Illinois Valley Cellular, Inland Cellular, Leaco Rural Telephone, Northwest Missouri Cellular, Panhandle Regional Wireless Network, Thumb Cellular and United Wireless. Ontela's PhotoCopter service will be available for $2.99 a month to users of those cellular services. Financial impact of that win was not disclosed. Ontela is venture backed by Steamboat Ventures, Oak Investment Partners, Hunt Ventures, and Voyager Capital.
