SeaMobile Gets GSA Contract
Seattle-based SeaMobile, a provider of communications services to oceangoing vessels, said today that the firm has been awarded a General Services Administration (GSA) contract. Financial impact of the contract was not disclosed. SeaMobile said that its MTN Satellite Services division will provide satellite communications services to government agencies, including the U.S. military. SeaMobile said the win comes on top of existing customers that include the Military Sealift Command, the Space and Missile Defense Command, the Naval Surface Warfare Center, the Naval Research Laboratory, the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration, the Commander, Naval Installations Command, and the Federal Emergency Management Agency. SeaMobile also operates cell phone and Internet access to cruise ship and other maritime vessels; the company is venture backed by Ignition Partners, Cambon Capital Partners and The Chart Group.
