Microsoft to Acquire Parlano
Software giant Microsoft Corp. announced Wednesday that it has agreed to acquire Parlano, a software developer best known for MindAlign, an enterprise group chat application. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. However, Microsoft said it intends to add Parlano's group chat functionality as new features to Microsoft Office Communications Server and Microsoft Office Communicator once the acquisition is official. The two titles represent Microsoft's server and client utilities for instant messaging, conferencing and voice-over-Internet. Founded in 2000, Parlano is based in Chicago.
