Marchex Launches 100,000 Web Sites

Seattle, Washington-based Marchex said today that it has launched more than 100,000 local and vertical Web sites, as the firm looks to tap consumers who are looking for local services and information. The firm said that it will provide user-generated reviews, ratings, and expert reviews across the sites, which include such domains as cuisine.com, locksmiths.com, remodeling.com, and bayareahotels.com. The Marchex effort pulls reviews and information from openlist.com, which Marchex acquired last year. The firm plays in the direct navigation and domain name business.
