Mentor Graphics Adds Xilinx Virtex-5 Support

Wilsonville, Oregon-based Mentor Graphics, a developer of electronic design software, said Thursday that the firm's advanced synthesis products support the new Xilinx Virtex-5 SXT FPGAs. Mentor said that its Precision Synthesis software now supports the new hardware, and that support in its LeonardoSpectrum will follow. Mentor's tools are used by hardware designers to design circuits, which are implemented in field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) from manufacturer like Xilinx.
