Microsoft Buys ProClarity
Microsoft has purchased a Boise, Idaho-based developer of business intelligence software. Microsoft said today that it has acquired ProClarity, which develops software that works with Micorosft's SQL Server 2005 database. Terms were not disclosed. Microsoft said that the acquisition was part of its strategy to broaden the reach of business intelligence. ProClarity's software works with SQL Server, Excel, Sharepoint Portal Server, and Microsoft's Office Business Scorecard Manager products. ProClarity has been a provider of third party analytics software for Microsoft products since 1999, and has more than 1200 customers. ProClarity will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Microsoft.
