OpenMarket Names Emmet General Manager

Seattle-based OpenMarket Inc., a publisher of hosted mobile-messaging and payment-processing applications, reported Thursday that it has hired Jay Emmet as general manager. OpenMarket described Emmet as a 15-year wireless industry veteran who previously sat on the Mobile Marketing Association's board while also serving as vice chairman of the association's Executive Committee. Prior to joining OpenMarket, the company said, Emmet was president of mBlox's Americas group, where he helped oversee the U.S. launch of that firm’s premium SMS services. He has also held leadership positions at ATG, New Edge Networks and Light Networks, OpenMarket said.
