Microsoft Buys BigPark

Redmond-based Microsoft announced Thursday that it is acquiring Vancouver, BC-based BigPark, an interactive online gaming firm. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. BigPark team comes from Distinctive Software Inc. and Electronics Arts Canada. Microsoft said that BigPark will become part of the firm's Microsoft Game Studios, and will work on an Xbox 360 game. The founders of BigPark are Wil Mozell, Erik Kiss, Hanno Lemke and Don Mattrick; Mattrick is now SVP of Interactive Entertainment at Microsoft.
