IBM Buys Vallent
IBM today said that it has agreed to acquired Bellevue, Washington-based Vallent. Financial terms were not disclosed. Vallent is a provider of network performance monitoring and service management software, used by wireless service providers to manage their network infrastructure. The software is used to managed problem areas for those providers, including dropped calls and traffic bottlnecks. Vallent's software will be added to IBM's line of Tivoli management software. Vallent employs more than 400, and will be integrated into IBM's Software Group.
