Blue Heron Acquired By Origene

Bothell-based Blue Heron, a provider of gene synethesis services, has been acquired, according to Origene. According to Origene, which is a life sciences firm based in Rockville, Maryland, it acquired Blue Heron to expand its gene-centric tools portfolio. No financial details of the acquisition were disclosed. Origene said that Blue Heron is a supplier of synthetic DNA to the majority of the top 20 pharma and biotech companies worldwide.
