AppFog Acquired By CenturyLink/Savvis

Portland-based AppFog has been acquired by CenturyLink, the telecommunications firm, to help bolster its Savvis cloud hosting service, CenturyLink confirmed late Friday. Financial details of the acquisition were not announced. CenturyLink said it will use AppFog's Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) products to help bolster the Savvis Cloud product catalog. AppFog CEO Lucas Carlson is now Vice President, Cloud Evangelist at Savvis. News of the deal had been leaked earlier last week.
