Amazon Seeks To Spur Delivery Services To Fill Last Mile
Amazon is hoping to spur more entrepreneurs to start delivery services to specifically deliver packages for Amazon, through a new program it announced this week. Amazon said it would offer up assistance to entrepreneurs looking to create a "last-mile" delivery service for Amazon, providing discounts on vehicles and fuel, among other incentives. Amazon said that businesses accepted into its program could earn as much as $300,000 in annual profits, assuming a fleet size of 40 vehicles. Partners interesting in applying must have $10,000 to invest, plus $30,000 in liquid assets.
