Amazon Begins Delivering Groceries From Whole Foods, Via Prime Now
Seattle-based Amazon and Austin-based Whole Foods Market announced this morning that Amazon will begin delivery of Whole Foods Market groceries for 2 hour delivery, starting in Austin, Cincinnati, Dallas, and Virginia Beach. According to Amazon, current customers of Prime can get free, 2-hour delivery for orders over $35 from Whole Foods. The launch of the delivery service is the first salvo of cities in a larger expansion planned for this year. Amazon said that items will be made available both through the Amazon Prime Now app, as well as the Prime Now website. The delivery effort is the first major move by Amazon and Whole Foods to integrate their operations, since Amazon acquired Whole Foods last year.
