PlayFab Acquired By Microsoft

Seattle-based PlayFab, the developer of cloud-based analytics, virtual goods, player management, and other tools for online videogames, was acquired this week by Microsoft. PlayFab was venture backed by such investors as Madrona Venture Group, Startup Capital Ventures, Benchmark Capital, and angels. Microsoft said that PlayFab's platform is a "natural complement" to Azure for gaming.
