Itron Acquires Comverge For $100M

Liberty Lake, Washington-based smart meter maker Itron announced this morning that it is in a definitive agreement to acquired Comverge, a developer of demand-response technology for the utility industry. Itron said it will pay approximately $100M in cash to Comverge's parent company, Peak Holding Corp., for Comverge. Itron said that Comverge's demand response, energy efficiency and customer engagement solutions complement Itron's strategy to provide more value to utilities and their customers.
