Vicis Raises $8M More

Seattle-based VICIS, a University of Washington spinout which is developing better football helmets to prevent concussions in football players, has raised $8M in a convertible note funding, according to a regulatory filing by the company. The funding brings the company's total raised to around $30M. The funding is most likely a bridge by the company's existing investors into a new funding round.
