Madrona Names New Managing Director

Seattle-based venture capital investor Madrona Venture Group said this morning that it has added S. "Soma" Somasegar as a new Managing Director at the firm. Somasegar has been a Venture Partner at the investment firm since November of 2015, and is a twenty-five year veteran of Microsoft. He most recently was head of Microsoft's Developer Division, responsible for Visual Studio and .NET, plus R&D labs in Boston, China, India and Israel. Somasegar was the lead on investments at Shyft and CloudCoreo, and serves as Chairman of the Board at Pixvana. Madrona says Somasegar's focus is on such areas a machine learning and artificial intelligence, virtual reality, augmented reality, cloud infrastructe, and "intelligent" applications.
