Amazon Plans 100,000 New US Jobs
Seattle-based Amazon.com said on Thursday that it plans to add more than 100,000 new, full time jobs, over the next 18 months, and is hoping to bring its full time, U.S.-based workforce to over 280,000 by mid-2018. Amazon.com said the job plans come after it already added over 150,000 jobs in the United States over the past five years. The announcement comes as the results of the U.S. Presidential election have resulted in an intense focus on corporations and their plans for employment in the United States. Amazon said that "many" of the new roles will be at new fulfillment centers it is building around the country.
