Textio Takes $8M

Seattle-based Textio, a developer of machine learning and natural language processing software used to help companies more quickly fill open jobs, has raised $8M in a Series A funding. The funding was led by Emergence capital, and also included Cowboy Ventures, Bloomberg Beta, and Upside Partnership. The company was founded by Microsoft alums Kieran Snyder and Jensen Harris. Emergence Capital's Gordon Ritter joins the company's board. The company said it has developed software to analyze business documents, with an initial focus on optimizing job listings, recruiting emails, and other content to fill open jobs for enterprises.
