Bill Gates Launches Clean Energy Investment Effort

Bill Gates--backed by Jeff Bezos, Mark Zuckerberg, Richard Branson, and others, has launched a major initiative to invest in clean energy. According to Gates, the new Breakthrough Energy Coalition is a group of private investors, who will help support companies who are taking innovative, clean energy ideas out of the lab and into the marketplace. Gates said the effort is aimed at helping the world move to sources of energy that are affordable and reliable, and don't produce any carbon. Gates made his announcement in Paris, at the worldwide climate talks taking place this week.
