Marchex Ramps Up Robocall Blocking

Seattle-based Marchex said today that it is rolling out some software, to better block robocallers. According to the company, its technology goes beyond just using caller ID, and uses voice pattern recognition and machine learning algorithms to block phone calls with fake caller IDs. The company said its product is aimed at businesses, to help quickly identify and block productivity-zapping robocallers. Marchex claims that robocallers cost businesses "billions" due to wasted time from those calls.
