Z2Live Acquired By King Digital For As Much As $150M
Seattle-based videogame maker Z2, known for its "Metal Storm" and other hit app titles, is being acquired by Candy Crush maker King Digital, in a deal worth up to $150M. Z2, which until recently was known as Z2Live, was venture backed by Madrona Venture Group, Draper Fisher Jurvetson, and others. The deal is split between $45M in cash and the remaining $150M in earnout. King Digital is based in London, and said the buy will give it its first game studio in the United States.
