Rightside Throw Hat Into Political Podcasting

In an interesting marketing move, Kirkland, Washington-based Rightside Group, Ltd., the spinout of Demand Media which offers up domain name services, said this week that it is underwriting the political podcast Left, Right & Center. The podcast, which is produced by public radio station KCRW, will feature an underwriting message from Rightside Group through October. The doman company said the move comes as it looks to raise the awareness of its new, politically oriented top-level domains, .DEMOCRAT and .REPUBLICAN. Financial details of the deal were not announced. The company said the podcast reaches over 200,000 listeners each week.
